  34.     Abstract:
  35.       This coverage contains points that describe centerpoint
  36.       locations of and primary commodity produced by oil and gas
  37.       fields of the Far East  (China, Japan, Mongolia,
  38.       North and South Korea, and Taiwan; and parts of
  39.       Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam).
  40.     Purpose:
  41.       To delineate the centerpoint locations of and primary commodity
  42.       produced by oil and gas fields in Open File Report 97-470F Maps
  43.       Showing Geology, Geologic Provinces, and Oil and Gas Fields of
  44.       the Asia Pacific Region; Plate 1: The Far East, which is being
  45.       compiled as a reference for the U.S. Geological Survey's World
  46.       Energy Project assessment of undiscovered, technically
  47.       recoverable oil and gas resources of the world.  This coverage
  48.       is used to produce a map and an Adobe Acrobat Portable Document
  49.       of the map to be published on CD-ROM. An Arcview shapefile
  50.       derived from this coverage is used in an Arcview project and
  51.       an ArcExplorer project.
